Research
Research Interests
My research interests include Artificial Intelligence (AI), Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computational Linguistics (CL)
My research focuses on the development of AI and CALL tools for language teaching and learning. I am particularly interested in the application of AI and NLP techniques to assist students in academic writing. My recent work includes the development of a writing assistance tool that helps students improve their academic writing skills by providing feedback on their use of academic vocabulary and nominalization.
I am also interested in the use of large language models (LLMs) such as GPT, BERT, and XLM for language generation tasks. I have developed a number of tools that use LLMs to generate text, including a tool that automatically generates nominalizations in academic writing.
My research also explores the use of AI and NLP techniques for text analysis and information retrieval. I have developed tools that analyze the effectiveness of abstracts and headlines in academic writing, as well as tools that analyze the use of conjunctive adverbs by L2 learners in academic writings.
My research has been published in a number of academic journals and conference proceedings, and I have presented my work at a number of international conferences and workshops.
